Terms and conditions of sale
Condition
The majority of the items on Henry Scott Designs Store are vintage/second-hand and so may show signs of their history. Although, every item is chosen with care, we (sic. Henry Scott Designs) cannot guarantee their future life-span and they are sold as seen. In our photography we endeavour to capture all items exactly as they are and can provide a condition report on certain items upon request.
We also include a descriptions g system for the condition of each item in the description:
A/f: A used item, with patina, marks or signs of age.
Distressed: A used item, with heavy ware which is part of the design itself.
Portrayal of Products
We endeavour to accurately depict our products, however, slight variation may occur. The reproduction of colour, finish and patina is as accurate as possible, but there may be variation dependant on the calibration of Users screens and resolution. All measurements provided are approximate.
Shipping
All items are sent out for delivery on either the following Tuesday or Friday after purchase.
For UK mainland customers, shipping rates are calculated during checkout and vary depending upon the weight, and complexity of the item.
We can arrange shipping to countries within Europe and the US. Please contact us via e-mail for a quote.
Please note that overseas customers may incur import duties and taxes, which are the responsibility of the purchaser. Determining duty can be very complicated, and while shipping services will often give an estimate for what the duty rate on an item might be, only the destination country can make a final determination about what is owed. We cannot say with absolute certainty what the customs charges or duties will be.
In the unlikely event that your item is damaged during transit, please photograph the damage, along with the packaging, and email us within 48 hours.
Returns
Returns are accepted within 14 days for a full refund, provided they are returned in sold and saleable condition. All costs associated with the return of each item is the responsibility of the buyer.
On the occasion that an item is purchased during a flash sale period, the item is non-refundable and we strongly advised a viewing in person prior to purchase, otherwise a condition report can be supplied upon request.
Prices, Payments & Delivery
All our listings are priced in GBP pounds sterling.
We accept payment via Apple Pay and the following credit/debit cards: Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro, Delta, Switch, Solo.
You may also make payment via bank transfer. To do so, email us at henryscottdesigns@gmail.com and we will issue you with an invoice. The item you have ordered will be placed on hold and we will begin packing shipping once payment has been received.

Terms and conditions hire
The following terms and conditions shall apply to all items hired by HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS to the exclusion of any other terms, express or implied verbally or in writing. They compromise the entire agreement made between HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS and the Hiree relating to hires and supersede and replace all previous agreements or understandings whether verbal or written.
PLEASE, HANDLE OUR PRODUCTS WITH THE UTMOST OF CARE
• All items should be lifted, not dragged – heavy items will require two people
• Protect edges and surfaces at all times, any chips or scratches will incur a professional repair charge
• Do not label item surfaces directly with adhesive tape

• No heavy or sharp items should be rested on or against any items
• Lamps should always be carried by the base
• Some more delicate, vintage items are props only and not for practical use. This is highlighted in the item description.
• Protect wood and painted surfaces from by avoiding direct contact with water and hot items
• Upholstery should be protected from heavy items to avoid lasting damage to the pile of fabric. Any damage or dirt will incur a professional cleaning charge
• All items must be satisfactorily wrapped in the same packaging as they arrived
• Blankets must be returned in the same condition as they went out, damages or a loss will incur a charge of £15 + VAT
• Crates must be returned in the same condition as they went out, damages or a loss will incur a charge of £65 + VAT
Conditions of Hire
Parties
(a) The Hirer is HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS, 94 Wakeman Road, LONDON, NW10 5DH.
(b) The Hiree is the person or business named on the purchase order or rental agreement. If the business address for communication and service of the Hiree is not in the United Kingdom, then the Agent named on same shall be jointly and severally liable with the Hiree to HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS for all terms and conditions of hire and the address for communication and service for the Hiree shall be that of the Agent.
Official Order
All transactions with HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS are to be on the Hiree’s order form quoting items and hire charge as agreed for a period on a weekly basis. All items to be covered by official order showing registered business address and VAT No.
Hire Charges
If the item is for sale (and not listed as hire only,) the hire fee is 20% of the item’s sales value per week. Fee for hire-only products available upon request.
Extended Hire
The Hiree cannot extend the hire period without prior agreement in writing with HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS.
Payment
Payment is due for all services at time of hire (or in case of extension at the time of notice). In providing card payment details, the hiree authorises the use of these against any sums that become owing to us in regards to extended hire, loss or damage.
Loss/Damage and Insurance
The Hiree agrees that during the hire period the items shall be kept in good repair and condition. Items that are not returned, or returned damaged or altered, will be charged at insurance risk value as detailed on hire. It is the responsibility of the Hiree to insure with reputable insurers. The insurance must cover the risk values against loss or damage from time of collection until return. A certificate of insurance must be produced on demand. The Hiree must report any discrepancies within 24 hours from collection.
Collection and Delivery
Collection and return of goods is by the Hiree.
Preservation
No alterations shall be made to any items hired. Labels identifying items as the property of HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS shall not be removed. The location of items at all times shall be confirmed to HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS on demand. No items hired shall be used for any purpose other than that for which such items are hired and shall not be lent or sub-hired to any third party.
Indemnity and Limitation of Liability
The Hiree shall indemnify HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS against all claims, expenses and legal costs in respect of damage, injury or loss arising directly or indirectly from the use or condition of items. No warranty of fitness for purpose is given by HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS. The Hiree is respectfully reminded of copyright legislation and for them to ensure that any necessary clearances, permissions or releases have been properly obtained before using any item. HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS shall not be liable for any complaint or claim for infringement of any copyright or other rights. All electrical items should be fitted by a qualified electrician. Upholstery is not checked for compliance with current fire regulations.
Surety
In certain circumstances HENRY SCOTT DESIGNSmay request a surety on behalf of the Hiree. The essential terms of the surety shall be to guarantee to HENRY SCOTT DESIGNS the due performance by the Hiree of all the hire terms and conditions. Notwithstanding any other terms or dispensation agreed with or granted to the Hiree, the surety shall at all times be liable for the performance of all terms of the agreement, including but not limited to payment for loss or damage of any items.
Packing Cases and Moving Blankets
Packing cases and moving blankets which are supplied free of charge for the hire period shall be charged at £25 to the hirer if not returned.
Cancellation of Order
A cancellation fee of 50% of hire cost will be made for confirmed orders cancelled within 24 hours before collection.
Law.
All parties agree that English law shall apply and that they shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
